How this estimate calculator works

  1. 1

    Add direct costs

Materials, labor, equipment, delivery, and any other job-specific cost.

  2. 2

    Apply overhead

Your overhead percentage is added on top to reach a true project cost.

  3. 3

    Set your target margin

Margin, not markup — the profit share of the final price, not of cost.

  4. 4

    Get your price

The required selling price updates instantly, to the cent and rounded.

Once your price is set, put it in front of the customer with our landscaping estimate template — fill in the same numbers and print or save a clean, customer-ready estimate.

Run the numbers once. Reuse them forever.

Pro saves your materials, equipment, labor and production rates so every future estimate calculates itself — plus Service Rate Health, estimate-vs-actual tracking, and branded customer estimates.

Frequently asked questions

How is an estimate calculator different from a cost calculator?

They run the same math. This page frames the tool around producing one project's full estimate — true cost plus the required selling price — rather than just a cost check.

Can I calculate more than one project at a time?

The free version calculates one project. Landscape Estimate Pro saves unlimited projects and estimates, plus reusable service assemblies so you don't re-enter the same materials and labor every time.

Does it factor in my production rates?

This free calculator takes a total labor cost you've already worked out. Pro adds production-rate labor calculation — enter a quantity (e.g. 8 yd³ of mulch) and your own production rate (e.g. 2.5 yd³ per person-hour), and it calculates person-hours and labor cost for you.

What's the difference between required price and display price?

The required selling price is calculated to the cent. The display price rounds that up or down to a clean whole-dollar number for the customer-facing quote — both are shown so you can see exactly how the rounding works.
